Lessons from Ahmed’s clock

The Ahmed Mohamed clock incident is another example of people’s ignorance using racism and stereotypes to jump straight to conclusions.

As the United States progresses, the nation learns lessons, but acting upon our biases only is not one of them. Ahmed, a boy who just wanted to be acknowledged for his science project, has been targeted by his own teacher. And for what reason? Steroetypes. Throughout the nation, many people look at Ahmed’s ethnicity and make biases, Ahmed walks in class with a clock, and his very own teacher looks at it as an act of terrorism.
