Cheers for Groove show at Tower

The historic Tower Theatre was transformed into a house of groove on Sept. 26 when smooth jazz saxophonist Euge Groove took the stage regaling an enthusiastic audience with an exceptional evening of jazz accentuated with a generous dose of funk and blues.

Mr. Groove, whose real name is Steven Eugene Grove, entertained the fired-up crowd with a panoply of songs culled from the vast expanse of his musical library. The high-octane moments of the evening were his performances of the title track of his latest CD, “Got 2B Groovin” and an earlier hit song “From the TOP,” which propelled those in attendance to get up from their chairs and dance.

The saxophonist and former Tower of Power member, who plays with remarkable sophistication and brio, backed by an outstanding band of musicians, demonstrated a high energy that has become a hallmark and trademark of his live shows. Special thanks to Bling 1 Entertainment, Wilson Entertainment, Susan Neville and the Tower Theatre for bringing this outstanding show to Fresno.
