Protest Mideast wars
For those ready for battle wishing to continue the flow of arms and equipment to “moderate rebels,” in the Near East, hear this from our Central Command:
Despite a $500 million training and arms program, the U.S. had five Syrian combatants remaining active in the country. U.S. trained and armed rebels of our vacuous Syria policy have turned over at least a quarter of their American-issued equipment to al Nusra Front, linked to al Qaida.
Four years ago, President Obama announced, “Assad has to go.” Assad is still there, Syria in ruins, 2 million dead, wounded, with refugees in the thousands pouring into Europe. Commander Abu Omar al-Shishani, a hillbilly from Georgia, who was trained by the U.S., enjoyed U.S. backing and American taxpayers’ limitless generosity, leads ISIS.
Not a single regime change in decades has been a success. Rather, consider the rapidly growing numbers of surviving victims of our many illegal military interventions. Exposed to to our bombs, depleted uranium and destruction, after losing their homes and families, they are left desiring vengeance while we are left losers, in horrendous debt, with loss of respect and credibility worldwide, profiteers the only winners.
Time for protest is now.
