U.S. must help Europe screen and relocate Syrians
As a son of immigrant parents, I am appalled by the pain and suffering of Syrian refugees and how the United States turns a blind eye against it. The United States must support the European Union to help cope with the millions of men, women, and children fleeing Syria.
The U.S. military has a $554 billion budget. Overseas, we have $88 billion supporting military bases in 56 countries. With those billions of dollars, why can’t we support the efforts of our European allies by opening the gates of our military bases overseas so that these asylum-seekers can be screened and relocated?
