Fresno State bookstore rips off students
As a student at Fresno State, I know that the campus is not perfect. Despite its flaws, I still like to believe it is a great place to learn. However, the campus is not the best place when it comes to the bookstore.
Textbooks are expensive, and most students know it is cheaper to shop online. Unfortunately, that’s not always possible, and some books have to be purchased on campus.
This semester the cutoff date to drop a course without repercussion is Sept. 22, which is still about two weeks away. The problem with that is, the Kennel Bookstore does not take book returns past Sept. 8, and books are often only bought back for pennies on the dollar.
This means anyone who drops a class within the next several days will have to wait for the buy-back period at the end of the semester, where their books will barely be bought back for a fraction of the cost. And then next semester, those same books will cost exactly the same price that was paid for them a few weeks ago.
There is no justice in this system.
