Sexist movie searches
Some local movie theaters are checking women’s purses and backpacks as they enter the theater. Initially, I thought that was for safety reasons. Then I realized that boys and men were the ones shooting up schools, theaters and malls.
I also realized that even a large purse was not going to be large enough for an assault weapon. No news story had mentioned a girl or woman carrying a weapon or bullets to be handed to the males doing the shooting.
So my question to movie theaters: What is the purpose of this search? And since the search happens after one has entered the theater, how is that making your patrons safer?
