ACLU priorities are confusing
If you’re a school teacher at Any School USA and you lead the students in the Pledge of Allegiance and you mention God, the American Civil Liberties Union sues you for promoting religion in the classroom.
If you’re a city government in New Mexico and you want to display the Ten Commandments on the grounds in front of city hall, the ACLU will sue you for promoting religion.
But if you’re a county clerk from Kentucky and you refuse to issue marriage licenses because of your religious beliefs, the ACLU will defend you for following your beliefs. Is the ACLU also defending those who were denied a license because of her discrimination of them?
I’m confused.
