Post Office incompetence, not cutbacks, delays delivery

With regards to Aug. 31 story “Post Office cutbacks”: We shipped a package from Fig Garden Village Post office Aug. 1 to Chaparral, New Mexico.

It contained school clothes for our great-grandkids. Package arrived in Denver, Colorado, five days later. Then five days later, it arrived back in Fresno at Cardwell Post office.

I called Cardwell and asked what happened. I was told it got scanned wrong in Denver and was being sent back out. You would think that they would change it to Express mail, being the Post Office messed up. Heck no.

So, on Aug. 20, after being trusted to the Post Office on Aug. 1, the package arrived in Chaparral. That was not due to cutbacks, that was just failure to do the job.
