America’s homegrown gun terrorists

Has anyone besides myself ever wondered why it is that both the media people (newspaper reporters, TV news persons) and law enforcement officials seem to shy away from asking, much less addressing, a critical question in the wake of what are coming be daily home-grown “terrorist” shooting attacks around the country in movie theaters, office buildings and the like.

The same question arises with the burgeoning numbers of homicides in domestic violence cases around the country. As soon as the perpetrators have been arrested or killed, one of the key questions that should be raised, and made public, in these instances is: “Where and how did the perpetrators obtain the weapon(s) used in the crime, as well as other weapons in their possession?”

How does anyone expect to get a handle on our patchwork of gun-control laws and procedures without more gun availability facts and public awareness of those facts? If the same numbers of citizens in this country were being killed by foreign terrorists, as by home-grown terrorists, you can rest assured we would we would be mobilizing resources from the FBI to Homeland Security to address that “epidemic” of terrorism.
