California lawmakers should stand up for clean energy

Entrepreneurs need smart legislation in place that will help them cut costs and allow them to grow their businesses. The proposed Senate Bill 32 and SB 350 bills in California are examples of clean-energy legislation that can do just that by working together to reduce our state’s carbon pollution output, lower energy costs and encourage clean energy investment.

If passed, these bills will not only create jobs, boosting local economies and spending at small businesses, they will also set efficiency standards that will drastically cut down energy costs and save many small employers a huge chunk of change on their utility costs. These savings will enable them to spend more of their resources on hiring and growing their businesses.

Small business support for clean energy initiatives is vast. A poll conducted by Small Business Majority found 87 percent of business owners believe improving clean energy innovation and efficiency are good ways to increase prosperity for small business through job creation and cost savings.

California lawmakers should stand up for stronger energy standards by supporting SB 32 and SB 350. It’s good for small business, good for California and good for the economy.
