Walmart’s gun-sales motive is cash
On Aug. 27, The Bee ran an article that “Walmart, the nation’s largest retailer” confirmed that it has been working to “phase out” sales of assault rifles.
Seems it decided last spring, several months ago, to take modern sporting rifles off its shelves...and will be doing so soon. Well, hurray. Sort of. It seems “the move was not made in response to political clashes about gun violence but rather is a reflection [of] waning customer interest in these products. This category, which includes AR-15s, will be out of its stores in about a week.”
In other words, the bottom line is the almighty dollar, not common sense or even sensibility for lives lost with these weapons of mass destruction. Does anyone really believe assault weapons are purchased for harmless use? Or even hunting jack rabbits?
Where are the mothers in this world? What a world of difference a world of wanted children would make. Meanwhile, this is just one more reason not to shop Walmart.
