Fresno’s dirty judges
In regards to the very informative article by The Bee on Judge Robert Petrucelli, I would only add that elections do have consequences. The re-election of Judge Petrucelli only goes to show that if you flood the city with signs, you can pull the wool over the uninformed voter. Many of the judges ran unopposed. They are appointees who greased the right palm and ran in the right circle, albeit non-competent.
Anyone who has had the unfortunate experience of having a ruling by Judge Petrucelli can attest to the swift response of the Fifth District Court of Appeal. And yes, Judge Petrucelli is not the only bad jurist on the bench in Fresno County. There are several others who stay below the radar.
In Fresno now, all it takes is belonging to the right party, attending the right church and having the funds for a good snow-job campaign. But Judge Petrocelli is not the only bad apple. There are many like him, several being in management of Fresno Police Department.
The citizens of Fresno are the ultimate victims of these political hacks. That bar is dirty and has been for a long time in Fresno County.
