Focus on Haggard’s murder, not gender
It is pathetically sad that the violent death of Kenton Haggard has morphed into a media circus. The Haggard family deserves better than a charade fomented by a miniscule, self-serving group using a tragic death to draw attention to itself.
This group is using the media as a pawn by criticizing the Fresno Police Department for identifying the deceased as male.
This self-promoting group is wasting police resources with a non-issue and coercing the local media into advancing a cause/issue insignificant to the vast majority of people. The person died violently at the hands of another and that is the crime Fresno Police Department rightfully should focus their efforts upon, not responding to what is or is not politically correct.
The video of the person’s death raises far more questions than there have been answers forthcoming besides what gender is on a driver’s license. The public wants the murderer off the streets. Interspersed with the gender debate/criticism news item are facts that apparently the family did not know of Mr. Haggard’s gender issues or why Mr. Haggard was on the street at 2 a.m. dressed as a woman.
Let the family have some peace and let Fresno Police Department do its job unobstructed.
