Send brave, old, angry white men to war
How quickly some among us dull our sensitivities regarding the human consequences of war. How easily we salve the wounds of our consciences by repeatedly praising our military heroes –injured, scarred or fallen.
The recent Republican debate was largely a spectacle of this reality (Rand Paul excepted). In our next war, I suggest we draft into the military, not the young and the lower socioeconomic class, but all the brave, angry, middle-aged white men and promote Victor Davis Hanson as their commanding officer.
In keeping with a fiscally responsible philosophy, let it be required that no war be waged without a federal income tax to fully fund the coverable costs of that war.
