Do pro-life activists hate women?
Linda Marie (letter Aug. 11) states that anyone who is pro-life is a misogynist, a hater of women. Interestingly, I know many women who are pro-life. Are they also guilty of misogyny?
Ms. Marie continues by calling the pro-life position “old and tired,” while explaining that “every woman” who aborts her unborn child must bear the emotional guilt and pain of that decision. Unfortunately, Ms. Marie doesn’t seem to understand why one feels that pain of guilt. Could it be because abortion is the taking of a child’s life?
Ms. Marie’s argument is fallacious because she has misunderstood the pro-life argument! Pro-life people don’t hate women! They hate the taking of innocent life, whether it be male or female. This isn’t “old and tired,” but rather vital to human dignity.
