Check out leadership class

How to be successful in high school? Get involved. Talk to teachers and coaches and visit your school’s activities office or leadership classroom.

There, you will find a person sold on involvement and students willing to share ideas and activities. You will learn how to plan noontime activities, homecoming, weekly contests and proms and winter formals. And, by the way, “leave your mark” on the walk of fame in front of Royce Hall. It will be there for a lifetime.

Do you have an idea? Share it! Others will, and all can benefit from the suggestion.

Howard Zinn, retired director of activities at Fresno High School, Fresno
