Why kill animals to hang heads on the wall?

I don’t understand why people continue to hunt and kill animals.

I eat meat, so I know this is a contradiction. I grew up in the country and we raised chickens for meat and eggs, and we once raised a calf to eat, but we did not enjoy killing them. We did it out of necessity.

I don’t understand why anyone would travel halfway around the world to kill an animal just to hang its head on the wall. It’s time for this to stop. Hunting is no longer necessary to provide food!
