Clueless Fresno

I reside in Los Angeles. I periodically come to Fresno on business. I usually stay at an establishment in that cluster at Fresno Street and Herndon Avenue. I am stunned by the squandering of water by the majority of the hotels/motels in that area. Every morning between 5 a.m. and 8 a.m., there is extensive watering of lawns. There are pools of water, wet sidewalks and water in the gutters at the corner of Howard Street and Fir Avenue.

In L.A., lawns are brown, and many have been replaced by drought-resistant plants.

Do people in Fresno realize that we are in a very serious drought? I don’t think so!

John H. Miller, Los Angeles
