Operation Clean Up is a mess

We recently had the annual Operation Clean Up in our neighborhood and what a mess it caused, again. I realize this type of project gives people work, but why can’t the city disposal “experts” see through what really happens?

Rude citizens, usually not from the area, take advantage of these “dump-offs” to rummage, dump, sort and scatter debris. This year, large chunks of glass and paint have been thrown all over the street. The project is unsightly and definitely lacks control.

Can large dumpsters — hey, there’s a concept — be placed in these well-trafficked areas to control the mess? Seems like a positive solution to me. I’m sure the city would be liable but folks, you are anyway.

What do the city’s disposal experts say about this idea? I’m waiting to see. It gets worse each year.
