Victor Davis Hanson’s just a poor historian
I finally decided something concerning your weekly columnist Victor Davis Hanson. After reading his offering dated July 26 concerning “appeasement,” I reached my decision.
The U.S. was one of the six world powers that negotiated the nuclear deal with Iran. Dr. Hanson does not mention that. He only mentions members of the Obama administration “high-fiving each other” because his anti-Obama bias is palpable.
Then, of course, he throws in the analogy of appeasing Hitler. This country spends $300 billion every year on defense. Iran spends $20 billion. To compare dealing with Hitler from 1936 to 1939 with this nation negotiating with Iran in 2015 is a ridiculous historical analogy.
No, I finally figured it out. I don’t have to decide whether your columnist is biased or just a poor historian. Dr. Hanson is both.
