Pray for rain
My wife and I were traveling north on Highway 99 recently and I saw a sign attached to a farm trailer. This sign did not say blame Obama, Pelosi and Costa for lack of rain. It simply said “pray for rain.”
When the fire season closes in November and the short harvest is completed, when dams stand empty and rivers and canals wait to convey nonexisting water to next year’s crop, when factions fill the courts with competing claims for water, then what?
I would encourage leaders of the various faith communities to encourage their members to pray for rain. Pray individually and in community for abundant rain to fall in our Valley and for snow to blanket our mountains.
I understand that people in life boats learn to pray quickly. I suspect that we will, too, especially if this drought continues to persist.
