Super store hassle
I live in old Fig Garden, between Ashlan and Shields avenues, and when I needed to run to the store to get something in a hurry, I would either go to Vons on Blackstone Avenue or Save Mart on Clinton Avenue. Those stores have now closed and the closest store is the new Walmart on Blackstone.
Have you ever tried to buy something in a hurry at Walmart? The store is so big and the aisles are so long, that you need to be a distance runner to buy milk. I am concerned and dismayed: Are the “smaller” stores going the way of the dinosaurs? I sure hope not.
