Saroyan ticket gouging
$150 for a $60 ticket to a Saroyan Theatre production? Beware of online ticket purchasing agencies! If you’re told “that’s what we have available at this time,” don’t assume a pending sellout. Try another agency.
Talking to those seated beside me at “The Book of Mormon,” I learned of multiple different prices for tickets purchased for the same section — often purchased only days apart. Shouldn’t there be a set price throughout the time tickets are sold for one production?
The prolific gouging is maddening, as was the poor quality of the production’s sound system. I could comprehend only about a quarter of the dialogue; the remainder was a noisy blur! The production was excellent in so many ways, but please — somebody — do something to correct the ticket pricing and the quality of sound!
