Fresno Police showed favoritism on vandalism crime
This comment is about the selective prosecution of Brian David Sumner for chalking the Fresno Police Memorial.
A few months, ago someone defaced the front of my house (stucco, metal front door, and glass front window) with paint balls. I called the Fresno Police Department (non-emergency) number to report the vandalism.
I was told that if the damage was not permanent, it was not vandalism. I was able to remove almost all the paint, as it had not dried, so the incident did not meet the police operator’s standard of vandalism. I believe that no crime was recorded based on my call.
Apparently, there are different standards applied to property which is important to the Fresno Police Department.
