Longtime Fresno voter recalls no stolen election claims, not until Trump | Opinion
Trump, McCarthy and elections
I started voting in 1964 and do not recall any election where the candidate claimed the election was stolen. In the 2020 presidential election, with no evidence, Trump claims the election was stolen. In 2016 he made no claims of a stolen election.
After four years on his watch as president he claims the process was bad. He had his attorney general investigate the election, who found it was a honest election. Now after over two years of review and oversight, the only illegal actions were committed by Trump. He tried to get to get secretaries of state (Arizona and Georgia) to change the vote without any evidence. He also pressured a govenor to throughout the vote.
Trump developed a group of imposters.for the Electoral College and continues to lie to us about the stolen election. He was able to disrupt ratification of the Electoral College on Jan. 6th 2020, when his rioters stormed our Capitol. All of Congress had to evacuated for safety and protection. The next morning, at about 2 a.m. Congress certified the election.
Even though California voted 63.5% for Biden, our congressman Kevin McCarthy voted against certification. So much for democracy. Thanks, Kevin.& Trump.

How to deal with homelessness
The question presented to the court: Should the homeless be fined if they have no place to sleep. The court says one cannot fine those who have no place to sleep. I believe if presented to the Supreme Court, it may agree. Then what is the solution at the city level?
If they haven’t yet, homeless should be separated into groups: Those who want help; those who want to be rehabilitated from drug, alcohol abuse or need mental health treatment; and those who want to be homeless. Establish programs for each group and a work program as a deterrent for those who choose to remain homeless.
Then pass a law making it illegal for anyone to sleep, hang out on public streets, areas of business at parks, canals. Those unwilling to follow the laws can be put to work cleaning up homeless campsites and the mess that’s left behind as a deterrent, instead of a fine they cannot pay.
And provide necessary employment for other to uphold those laws.

Bring real values to west Fresno debate
Recent actions to rezone south-west Fresno for the profit of investors speaks to the continued action of disinvestment, racial hatred and inequalities plaguing minorities all over this country.
The Fresno City Council members, backtracking on the original commitment noted by Attorney General Bonta's Office and SWF residents, clearly indicates that their priority is promoting their careers and interests, instead of the interests of the people who voted for them. It also says that SWF residents are not valuable, important, or human, like the people council members are supporting with this rezoning effort.
The question and challenge here is: when are we going to end the racism and hatred of minorities, especially Black people, and find the face of God in them? Their lives are unimaginable with the brutality they have endured over the years.
The disguise of God is undeniable, even for the people who claim they are Christians and supposedly follow the values that Christian faith calls them to.
So, unless our leaders, and fellow man truly accept and live these values, they are nothing but corrupt believers and frauds.
Undoubtedly, the “call of discipleship” compels us to consider this.

Fireworks honor the flag, not booms
During the Revolutionary War, the British battle fleet turned all of their guns onto the flag at Fort Henry. If Americans lowered the flag, then the war would be over with a British victory.
Our song describes rockets with red glare and bombs bursting in air giving proof through the night that the flag was still there. At the same time, those same rockets and bombs were aimed at the flag at Fort Henry. Men went to certain death to hold up the flag against rockets and bombs making direct hits on it. In the end, a pile of corpses were holding up the flag. Why do we shoot rockets and bombs on the 4th in order to celebrate those Americans who died by British rockets and bombs?
Fireworks celebrate Independence Day, but the fireworks tradition is due to the anthem I think, not the signing of the Declaration of Independence.
It is disrespectful to the men at Fort Henry and to veterans with PTSD who flinch at every loud boom.

Bee columnist’s report was unfair
Had we been approached for more facts about a recent column by Marek Warszawski on La Hacienda trailer park, the details would have been made more clear.
Everything I did was authorized by and approved by Superior Court Judge Kapetan. I did not steer the sale to Harmony. In fact, Judge Kapetan found that there was “no there there” regarding the buyer CRLA tried to steer the deal to. It appears to me that Harmony is complying with Fresno’s rent control ordinance and that if people are being evicted it is because they aren’t paying their rent.
The piece written by The Bee was based solely on the opinion of a biased party who lost her arguments in court.
The goal of CRG at every property we are appointed to is to make safe and secure communities. To disparage the company in a piece without ever reaching out for comment was unprofessional and very disappointing.
