Stop watering the parking lots
At 1 p.m. July 5, I stopped at McDonald’s, 5222 W. Shaw Ave., right off Highway 99.
My grandson had spent two weeks with me; we were going home; he was hungry and requested we stop. I have a handicap sign, but I noticed that every one of the handicap-parking places were blocked off.
Two employees were using water to hose down the lot as if they were watering plants. I grew up in Fresno County and know full well how important water is to our farmers and that we have a drought!
Using a cell phone, I had a hard time trying to locate the water department to come check the problem. Three people came outside, all said they were managers, though none of them looked like the picture of the manager on the wall.
Their comment was they can do whatever they want! The two employees said they did not want to do this particular job. They agreed it was wasting water, but they also would get fired if they refused.
I took a picture while they were watering. It was disgusting to see the lack of regard for the drought our state is suffering!
