Local leaders lost marijuana drug war

I’m responding to the story about how marijuana growers are ruining the public lands. I didn’t see in that story any attempt to explain any facts for why all these illegal grow sites are still being discovered throughout our state.

The huge successes being achieved by those operating illegal grows can be directly attributed to and blamed on our city and county administrators and their misguided, misinformed continuation of the monumentally failed drug war.

Our local leaders don’t seem to realize, the marijuana drug war is over and they lost. Our city and county leaders pushed hard for cultivation bans on qualified patients in Fresno County. Now, it looks like everybody’s upset because of illegal cultivation on public and private lands.

If they want to reduce the demand for illegally grown cannabis, then it is required that our idiot leaders remove the cultivation bans for qualified patients throughout California.

It’s clear that our city and county leaders don’t understand the most fundamental and basic principal of physics: “For every action there is an equal and opposite reaction.”

If they don’t like the reactions of their misguided and short-sighted actions, then it’s imperative they change their actions.
