Fresno store owner keeps vet in stitches — no charge

I found a business in Fresno that did custom embroidery. At first, the clerk stated that it would cost $30 to sew on the lettering on my hat that I requested. I wanted an emblem that stated “Vietnam Veteran 1965–1967.”

When she came back with the details for such an emblem with the different fonts, colors and design, she was accompanied by the owner of the business. He came out and shook my hand.

“Thank you for your service, sir,” he stated.

I was puzzled. “There won’t be a charge. It’s my way of thanking the servicemen that fought for our freedom.”

A tear came to my eye, as I was speechless. All I could utter was, “You’re welcome.”

The business name is “Stitch Master Custom Embroidery.” I want to publicly thank Thomas Nakazawa for his kind gesture and his sincere appreciation of all U.S. veterans.
