Valadao fails on immigration reform

Sometimes doesn’t it feel like time just flies by? Like two years could just pass by in the blink of an eye? Well, unfortunately for the millions of undocumented immigrants living in our country, it’s been quite the opposite. To them, the last two years have felt more like two centuries.

Two years ago today, the U.S. Senate passed a serious, bipartisan piece of immigration reform legislation.

Finally, we thought, we are really going to get this done. Immigration reform supporters felt like our Congressman, David Valadao, had our back in D.C. The press portrayed him as a rebel for standing up for immigration reform in the Republican Party.

But then we found out the truth. Rep. Valadao opposed the Senate bill, our first real chance to make immigration reform a reality. He even refused to sign a discharge petition which would jump over the extremists in his party and bring the bill to the floor of the House of Representatives, where it had plenty of votes to pass.

Rep. Valadao continues to say he’s all for immigration reform, but we’re tired of the talk. We have waited long enough for Rep. Valadao to show us results. The clock is still ticking.
