Presidential candidates should pay for their own security
It seems that as of today we have 15 Republicans and three Democratic candidates for the office of the President of the United States.
While it is admirable that so many have chosen to take that path and campaign for the next 16 months, it strikes me that we the taxpayers are stuck with providing very expense Secret Service security for each and every one of them including their immediate families.
So, rather than stick us (the taxpayers) with the tab, why don’t the candidates pay for the security from their own campaign funds until a candidate from both parties is chosen. Then we can rightly say that the security cost for the two is not only essential but a foregone conclusion.
