Fresno County voting is secure
Alarmed by the president’s assault on our right to vote, I was pleased to find that Fresno County’s Registrar of Voters has impressive machinery to protect it. On the county’s website are options to track our individual ballots as they are sent, received and tallied. There is even a form to update your valid signature. I did that incidentally, rather than defend a challenge by the president’s sycophants.

Time to get serious on mask mandate
In light of the critical situation in our local communities relative to COVID-19, I believe it is time for the city and county governments to take the step of enforcing mask-wearing mandates. Far too many people in Fresno are not taking this virus seriously, and are endangering others by going out in public without a mask.
Essential employees and private shoppers who try to remind maskless individuals of store mask policy can find themselves ignored, or worse, verbally or physically attacked. The burden of enforcing mask wearing should instead be on local law enforcement.
In The Bee’s July 28 article, “Fresno county, city officials get list of challenges in first joint meeting since pandemic,” Cresencio Rodriguez-Delgado reported that Fresno County Interim Health Officer Dr. Rais Vohra agreed “unregulated social behavior” has been a contributor in the spread of the virus. The article also mentioned that Fresno city and county governments are struggling with a loss of revenue. Imposing fines on those who are able to wear masks but refuse to do so will help to boost revenue while simultaneously protecting the community.

Chief worry is not Trump, but Dems
Richard A. Clarke, in his article in The Fresno Bee, Aug. 3, asks, “What might Trump do if he truly fears losing?” He went on to describe what Putin did and wonders about phone calls between the two. He described a couple of scenarios, and finally stated, “Do not think narrowly when answering that question.”
Considering how the Democrats responded to that same scenario in 2016, such caution is well advised. It would be difficult to see how Trump might possibly exceed the Democrat-media vitriolic attack on his presidency over the past 44 months, and ongoing at this time. Specifics would be denied by liberals and require no elaboration for conservatives!
During the past four years, the Democrat party has become totally radicalized as they currently tolerate lawless acting out in major cities throughout the United States and complain when Trump threatens to intervene. Do they actually seek to destroy the very foundations of our Republic? “Do not think narrowly when answering that question!”

Time to reopen state is now
If teachers don’t want to go back to work, they shouldn’t get paid or they should be fired. If employees in Walmart and Target and Costco can go back to work, then teachers can.
People need to hear Dr. Scott Atlas speak. He has done studies from all over the world. Rarely do children get this virus and rarely do they pass it on to adults. Also, it shouldn’t interfere with sports.
Also, we shouldn’t be listening to Dr. Fauci. Get this country back open. We need to get back to work. If some people can work, everyone can! We have a governor in California that needs to be voted out. He is absolutely ruining our state. Wake up, California!! Thank you.
