Flynn case shows there is no justice

Yes, the first thing was the exoneration of President Trump from impeachment, than the remarks that the virus was just going to disappear. Last but not least, I could shoot someone on Fifth Avenue in New York and nothing would happen. I could go on and on, but the recent news was really something from the Watergate days.

Mr. Barr, the protector of justice in these great United States, freed a man, a friend of the president, from being found guilty and serving time behind bars. A man Flynn, who confessed of consorting with no only the Russians, but other countries as well, is exonerated of his deeds, because he is a friend.

The Attorney General Barr should be impeached, found guilty and serve the time that Flynn would had served. I look at the country I love, and remember when I could feel justice would be served on those who think they are smarter than the community we live in.

Put the mask on, stop whining

On Friday, May 8, I went shopping at Sprouts in Fresno. I was appalled to see individuals and families enter the store without masks, including two small children. A store manager told me company policy required asking shoppers to wear a mask but there were no consequences if they did not.

I think of the 5-year old girl in Chicago who died from COVID. Her parents are first responders. If masking up saves one child, it is worth the minor inconvenience.

During World War II, my grandparents dealt with ration coupons. My maternal grandfather walked the neighborhoods of Delano ensuring that all homes were “blacked out” at night. We all banned together for a greater good.

COVID is an illness, not an excuse for partisan politics. The colossal failure of leadership in America in failing to care for the lowest-paid workers no doubt contributes to the fear and irresponsibility exhibited by some in this country. However, anger and fear are no excuse for bald-face stupidity.

Just put your damn mask on and quit whining. There is honor in doing the right thing. There is no honor in being a fool.

Oh, and Sprouts is off my list.

Nunes was right, media were wrong

On May 7, the House Intelligence Committee released declassified interview transcripts from the Russia investigation. Chairman Adam Schiff tried for three years to prevent the release of the transcripts. It finally proved Rep. Devin Nunes, R-Tulare, was right the whole time about the Russian collusion hoax and the attempted coup against President Trump.

Nunes will go down in history as the first man to uncover “Spygate,” and Adam Schiff as the diabolical liar. Under oath the witnesses could not offer any evidence of wrongdoing; however, Adam Schiff would go on television and paint an entirely different story that there was evidence of Russian collusion. The mainstream media would than perpetuate the scam.

The whole fiasco caused great harm to our country. It broke up friendships and separated family members. Journalism should go back to the basics and report collaborating facts and not opinions.Thank God for Devin Nunes, or else we would have never known the truth. He deserves an apology from the media and especially from The Fresno Bee for attacking him for three long years.
