Trump cartoon was right on the mark
Brian Burry wrote: “Bee Hit New Low With Cartoon” and demanded that The Fresno Bee print a retraction for saying that “The buck stops here” and Trump says “I don't take responsibility at all.” The writer claims Trump is working with the best experts in the nation. Not true. Trump fired the best experts when he gutted the CDC and cut funding. Trump does not listen to the experts he currently has.
We can see his lack of leadership when time and time again those experts have to contradict what Trump tells us. The Fresno Bee hit the nail right on the head with that cartoon. If anything I think it should be reprinted in 3-D color.
Trump never ever accepts responsibility for anything and has demonstrated that he is not fit to be the president of the United States.

Maybe open the store a bit later
I am a 65-year-old senior citizen and blelssed with good health. One recent day at 7 a.m. I was standing in line waiting with fellow senior citizens to enter a store at 8 a.m. for the purpose of enjoying senior citizen shopping privileges. It was cold. Very cold. I looked around me and saw most of those waiting were much older than I, some had pronounced physical disabilities, and I'm sure some had medical issues.
So here we stood, in the cold, waiting for the store to open. I deeply appreciate all those businesses that have allocated time for senior citizens. With that said, standing out in the cold for an hour is in many respects counterproductive to old folks. I'm not sure what the answer is, but hopefully open discussion toward a better method will ensue.

Dark vision of America’s future
Andrew Fiala walks us through what we can know and how we can know it. Critical thinking. David “Mas” Masumoto asks questions that explore our humanity, our compassion. Critical thinking and compassion are the truths that will define our times.
Do we embrace, accept, mathematical models that tell us the conditions we will confront? Do we use this knowledge to prepare for what’s coming? The answer to both questions is no. The apocalyptic visions of our times is upon us.
We know that life on Earth as we know it will cease to exist in the next 50 to 100 years. And yet we persist in our silly wars. We persist in our silly hatreds, our silly religions and any other excuse to blame others for our own faults.
I’ve come in my old age to a cynical point of view. I wish it were not so.

A bit sensitive perhaps, she says
In response to recent letters I read, would those who object to the label “Chinese” want us to rename the “German” measles, the “Asian” flu, the “Spanish” flu and Ebola (a river in the Congo). And others? Have we become overly sensitive?
