Pelosi’s behavior: Letters to the editor, March 8, 2020
Sharp criticism of Nancy Pelosi
(Nancy) Pelosi is the most hateful person that has ever led the Democratic party. She was an embarrassment to the civility that is expected during the State of the Union address. She sat there shaking her head negatively, gyrated her jaw uncontrollably and glared at her dolts dressed in white in the audience. She also scowled at those that dared to stand in ovation! She would not even rise for the young black girl, with her single mother at her side, that was the recipient of an Opportunity Scholarship to advance education for low-income families that was signed by the president! She didn't rise when celebrating one of the last Muskegee airmen, at age 100, that was recently elevated to a one star general.
Lastly, she tore the legal document of the president’s speech, which I understand could be a crime. You should be ashamed and will pay. The Catholic Church should excommunicate her for her pro-abortion stand and for all of us to stop hearing she is praying for the president every day. I wonder who she is praying to.

Real danger to U.S. are top Democrats
If I wouldn’t have known better, I would have thought that the recent letter of Gary Dashjian was going to tell us what is going on in the Leninist Democratic Party. He painted us a vivid picture of the likes of Nancy Pelosi, Chuck Schumer, Adam Schiff, and their sycophants in the news media. These are the ones that are truly responsible for stoking fear, hatred and the balance of Mr. Dashjian’s litany of transgressions.
They lie about, misconstrue, take out of context all that president Trump has done to provide one of the best times to live in America. If the left can’t run the country, they’ll ruin it. Mr. Dashjian overdramatizes his so-called fears and claims the sky is falling when he probably could not provide a negative in his life directly attributed to the president; however, he will continue to ignore the Russian hoax (initiated by H. Clinton campaign), the impeachment farce, ignore the corrupt Biden family, and now attempt to make Roger Stone (and the honorable Bill Barr) the scapegoats in a farce investigation for lying to a bunch of corrupt congressional liars.
Mr. Dashjian’s fears are well founded, he’s just looking at the wrong people.

Marijuana as an aid to enlightenment
In his ethics column in the Jan. 26 Bee, Andrew Fiala discusses the pros and cons of marijuana usage. He describes solitary usage as being a province for “sad stoners.” He also makes fleeting reference to using it for mystic purposes.
Marijuana, magic mushrooms, and mescaline have been drugs of choice for mystics for thousands of years. They open pathways to spiritual experiences that can profoundly change lives for the better.
I personally have used marijuana for 50 years as a means of increasing awareness and as an aid to meditation. I usually do this meditation solo. This usage has helped me release buried tensions and has brought me joy, clarity, and compassion. For me it has proven to be a useful doorway to enlightenment.

Money for HSR, but not roads
On the condition of city streets: Hey, we are getting high-speed rail. Do you think we can get repaired streets and highways as well?
I think not.
