Nunes chooses party over country

My family has always been Republican. My grandfather was Richard Nixon’s mentor in Nixon’s early years in politics.

All I can say is “Shame on you Rep. Nunes” — you, who have been doing damage to this country behind the scenes. You, who ran to the White House to report on the Mueller investigation, while co-chairing the investigation, in order to discredit it. You, who had dealings with Lev Parnas to manufacture a case against Biden, despite your lies to the contrary. And all that you’ve done to destroy a representative government with the separation of powers delineated in the Constitution.

Contrary to your recent fundraising letter: There is a case! Blackmailing a foreign country to interfere in our election and obstruction of Congress in covering it up. There is direct evidence — President Trump himself declaring his treasonous act proudly, and numerous staff people hearing the president himself on phone calls with his voice booming out demands for a smear campaign before he’d release congressionally appropriated funds, an illegal act. You who have systematically put party before this country’s national security and the Constitution.

Nunes voters, do the right thing

It’s plain to see we must rid the Valley of Devin Nunes and his type, letting his legacy justly reward him. Ridding ourselves of Devin will, no doubt, be a gargantuan task, given the ethics and moral character of his constituents. Run him out of town on rail tar and feathered, though, will not work for the shameless.

However, we fool ourselves thinking Devin is the problem. Them voters approving and enabling his behavior are much more to blame. Ninety-nine percent of Nunes voters, I’m convinced, care less if corruption as well as gerrymandering are unfair. More than not these people view the status quo as the “ All-American Way,” winner take all, cheating is a wink and a nod, where political power is a “zero sum” game.

Most of these constituents must feel comfort in what he’s doing. We have now witnessed the deception Mr. Nunes has employed as the minority chair in the House Trump impeachment hearing. Sad to say, most of these people may profess to not care that the latest facts have him, allegedly, in the loop of unconstitutional abuse of power by a cabal of Republicans.

All that is currently transpiring will call for the voting public to find the, “profile in courage” and truly become patriots. All must find our, “Howard Dean moment.”

Shake off any voter fatigue and vote

I am eligible to vote for the first time in the next election. I am registered and anxious to participate. When I read articles about voter fatigue, I cannot relate. The right to vote should not be treated with apathy. I am looking forward to reading my voting materials and completing my ballot.

I understand if you have been voting for a long time, how the many months of impeachment might put off interest in voting. The article in The Bee on impeachment fatigue lists important issues that some have wished Congress was paying more attention to, such as health care, infrastructure, to name a few. However, if you think Washington’s focus has wandered, making your voice known by voting means more now than ever.

Some feel the political parties are trying to take our votes away by impeachment or by tampering with the process. That is why it continues to be so important to vote. Try to remember the feelings you used to have and the ones I have now; it’s a privilege and a duty to vote. I encourage all of you who have feelings of voter fatigue to shake these off and vote this upcoming March 3 .

Fresno takes long way to legal pot

Fresno may have medical marijuana dispensaries soon, they say.

For years Fresno fought mmj sales and a patient’s right to follow the state law to grow and possess their medicines. People asked for individual protection under state law and were told they understood one’s need for the medicine, but couldn’t have sales because of federal laws.

Now we can have dispensary and sales, but me, an individual, cannot grow my medicine outdoors in the sunlight. I must grow indoors and run up my power bill, putting an added load to our power grid, not to mention I am being made to pay over free sunlight!

Patients’ rights and compassion my buttocks, Fresno, you just made me a violation of code, at least when all I’ve done is warn you!

Thanks a lot for protecting individual rights over corporate America.

What a long strange trip it’s been to get here!

What would you do if it were you, my friends. Think about it, you may be next!
