Nunes ‘addicted’ to Trump: Letters to the editor, Feb. 2, 2020

Nunes suffers from addiction to Trump

Devin Nunes’ conduct and comments during the recent impeachment proceedings made me think that he might be suffering from a political form of delirium tremens unrelated to alcoholism, known as the Donald Trump DT’s.

The symptoms of this mental condition are the patient’s absolute loyalty to his leader’s political conduct, and blind acceptance of all of that leader’s actions as the gospel truth. Devin Nunes’ deep and devout defense of any and all of Donald Trump’s actions are positive symptoms that he is in the advanced stages of the political DT’s.

Sadly, many other Republican members of Congress also possibly infected with the DT’s, now meekly accept Donald Trump’s lack of morality and integrity. I sincerely hope that a DT-free Republican will run against Devin Nunes in the primaries. The theme for this brave soul’s campaign could be “No Nunes is good Nunes.”

Nunes’ advice: Move to North Korea

I once sent a letter to Devin Nunes that expressed my concerns about the Patriot Act. I received a letter from Devin Nunes advising me that if I didn't like it, I should move to North Korea.

That was 11 years ago, and he has proven many times over that he doesn't deserve the support of this district. Let's make a long overdue change, folks.

Enough already with D.C.’s nonsense

Congress has done nothing to help the people of this nation for years now. All they want to do is to see what kind of dirt they can find on someone.

United we stand, divided we fall. Let’s hope and pray that honest, hard-working and morally upright people will be elected in 2020.

The people are tired of DCs nonsense

Equal pay for equal work must happen

America runs on the sole idea that everyone is equal, but how can this be considered true? Women still face injustices strictly due to their gender, and we need to change this. At the end of this year, PayScale did an experiment calculating that women receive approximately 79 cents for every dollar a male makes.

One may argue that women do not deserve equal pay because they do not do the same work, but this is solely due to the fact they are not given the same opportunity. How is one supposed to complete the same work if they are not given the opportunity to do so?

Day in and day out women work harder than people ever thought they were capable of, and they are not getting the reward for this. According to the AAUW, mothers that never left the workspace, statistically get paid less than men. These women deserve more, they are continuing to do the hardest job. It is time to change the ways we are OK with running our society. What more can women do to defend themselves, when they should not have to do so?
