Death by apathy

So Donald Nelson and Moneesha Camp’s neighbors had heard the abuse of these two young boys in the past, including a time when “the racket was so intense, a neighbor reported that one of her framed pictures fell off the wall” and yet no one called the police to try and help these little children?

On Jan. 2, 2014, around 3:15 a.m., a neighbor saw Nelson’s car at the apartment. Then she heard loud voices coming from the the couple’s apartment. The neighbor also “felt bumping through the wall.” The neighbor heard Nelson say: “How do you like that?” Then she heard a child’s voice say, “Aaahhh.”

Around 5 a.m., the neighbor went outside and didn’t see Nelson’s car. So an hour and 45 minutes after the neighbor heard loud voices and bumping through the wall, they go outside to see if a car is there — again not calling police despite all of the commotion.

This small little boy Zion had no one to protect him, perhaps if someone had just picked up a phone his life would not have ceased on that night. What is our society coming to? Shame.
