Nation’s priorities

An organization called “Our American Revival” sent out a questionnaire to find out what its membership considered the most important issues facing our nation. The first six on their list: national deficit, ISIS, high taxes, energy independence, Obamacare and border security.

A church in Fresno asked its members what they considered the most important issues facing our nation. Their first six: global climate change, economic inequality, immigration reform, equal access to voting, corporate personhood and campaign finance reform.

The “revival” group’s list sounds like a prayer for “Me, my wife and my son John.” I prefer the broader scope of the local church, which appears to have a concern for everyone.
