Vote Janz, support local district

I would urge all the voters of Congressional District 22 to vote for Andrew Janz in November. Devin Nunes has tried to protect Trump by running to the White House with misleading information that has compromised our national security. Every issue he has brought up has be proven incorrect, and we need a congressman that will fight for our district and not protect a president who has lied, cheated and taken Putin’s side against our great country.

PG&E request seems questionable

If I understand the meaning of a recent legal notice, PG&E wants to collect from its customers the cost of complying with a CPUC mandate intended to shield customers from “bill impacts and volatility” stemming from the 5-tiered rate structure put into place after the state’s energy crisis. The CPUC, ever on the customer’s side, asked utility companies to track the costs associated with this effort. For PG&E, those costs are $20.5 million, an amount they are now seeking to recover from customers via a rate increase request now before the CPUC.

Call me naive, but I would have categorized something like this as a bottom-line expense, part of the normal operational cost of doing business. This shouldn’t be my problem.

But, I guess when you’re facing money problems on so many fronts – San Bruno, Fresno, wildfires, residential and commercial solar generators – it’s easier to bite the hand that feeds you than to upset your investors.

Giving President Trump some credit

President Trump has taken a lot of heat for his less-than-macho performance in his press conference with Putin. I watched the whole thing and feel he should get a little more credit. Not once, not even one time, at least on camera (I don’t know what happened during their two hours behind closed doors) did he allow Putin to tousle his hair and say “good job, Donny, good job.”

Presenting an ‘award’ to Nunes

Fresno-area congressman Devin Nunes has just won the contest for worst congressman! With over 400 contestants, it wasn’t easy, but recent revelations about his campaign financial violations and his dishonest leadership of the (House) Intelligence Committee have clinched the award for Nunes.

Sorry for those of you who don’t live in Nunes’ district, but at least we can all share in the glory of having the worst president in history.
