Improve traffic flow
In Fresno any direction you drive, the flow of traffic is stopped every half mile, sometimes in a quarter mile. It’s timed perfectly.
Traffic flow is stopped four times to clear the area between Fresno Street and Blackstone Avenue, where there is an on-off ramp to the freeways. Caltrans says the city is not timed with it; the city says just the opposite.
A single car trips the device in the street and 15-30 cars are stopped (often in each direction) to let one on. Why do the lights cycle for two or three seconds when there are no cars?
Herndon Avenue was supposed to be an expressway. It’s far from it.
I know all of the lights can’t be timed all of the time but surely they can time two or three in a row. The Valley Air Pollution Control District should require a better job on timing the lights. By far, our vehicles pollute more than my fireplace. Somebody do a better job.
