Hold off on train blame
Rahm Emmanuel stated often the adage, “ Let no crisis go to waste.”
Lo and behold; before all the bodies were removed from the wreckage of the derailed train, and before we knew anything about the cause of the accident, the liberals were out pounding the talking points that the accident was a result of funding cuts by the Republicans that caused this tragedy.
Shameful is too kind of a description of their actions. I guess the party of “pass it to see what’s in it” doesn’t want to await the investigation.
It now is coming out that the funding for the override-protection unit for that section of track was already approved and had been delayed by a governmental regulatory bureaucratic agency.
I guess the fact that the engineer was going more than twice the legal speed limit is unimportant to the Democrats in Congress and the White House. Let’s tend to the injured, bury the dead, assist the families, await the investigation, and then decide what course of action to follow.
