No more wars
On Memorial Day, May 25, let us recall these thoughtful words of the late Howard Zinn:
“We should celebrate Memorial Day by making up our minds never to have another war, never to have any more veterans, never to have any more bodies coming home in body bags. And perhaps we should use Memorial Day to celebrate those people who have acted against war and who have refused to go to war.”
It is the most humane position patriotic, civilized and spiritual people can take.
