My wife and I are keeping our daughter home from Edison Computech today, after social media threats of a school shooting at Edison High School, located on the same campus.

According to the message from Fresno Unified School District, the threat is not considered “’credible.” Yet it is believable enough that we and many other parents are keeping their kids at home. Why is that?

The threat is credible because the AR-15 assault weapon pictured in the online threat is easily available. The Florida shooter, a mentally disturbed teen, legally bought his down the street from the site where he murdered 17 people. That’s why we can’t honestly tell our kid it’s OK to go to school.

Our leaders tell us they are doing everything they can do to keep our kids safe.

They lie.
