Cellphone study is highly suspicious

The Sacramento Bee

Re: California drivers putting down cellphones by Tony Bizjak. reporter for Sacramento Bee. 02/07/18

What state or city are you living in that you would believe the state Office of Traffic Safety study that only 4 percent of drivers are using their cellphones while driving?

You can drive on any city street in Fresno or Clovis on an day at any time and clearly observe that 80 percent plus are using a hand-held cellphone to either talk, text or read the latest Facebook post.

I have to avoid no less than two cars or trucksa day that drift into my lane because there is information on their phone that they simply must look at or perish.

I can’t count how many times I’m stuck behind a vehicle that isn’t moving because the driver has lost complete contact of where they are and what they are supposed to be doing. When are city and state laws going to be put in place to stop this epidemic?

If the ticket was a minimum $380, a moving violation on your driving record and it was enforced, maybe we could get it down to 50 percent.
