Imitation president: Welcome, Anglo Christians, no others need apply

An Arabic-speaking American in Syria spoke recently on 88.1 FM – where else?– of the Bedouin response to outsiders: “Oh you’re strangers! How wonderful! You must’ve come from great distances and have many stories to tell us of your adventures! Come in! Sit and eat with us and speak of your travels! Welcome, friends!”

Compare the National Embarrassment’s response to the Statue of Liberty’s invitation to the poor and wretched of the earth after seeing applications to enter the US from Haiti and Africa: “Why do we want these people . . . ?” Now there’s large-minded and generous-hearted Americanism at work, but only for Anglo Christians. No others need apply.

If you voted for this man once and vote for him and his allies again, shame on you. And on him and his acolytes. Collectively, they’ve made America a bad word in the world and encouraged terrorists. This toxic imitation of a president will take such views to present to the world’s leaders in Davos at the global forum in Switzerland. They do us no credit.
