I found Monday’s front page story about Jacob Awar Ayuen, and the student essays on the editorial page, to be the most inspiring Fresno Bee edition in recent memory. Kudos for stories that give evidence of “hope” and “sanity.”

Michelle Obama’s saying, “When they go low, we go high” is one way to counter the negative and demeaning dialogue that floods our public discourse. This new year holds great promise if we allow the best of who we are to influence our attitudes and actions. The complex situations that face our neighborhoods, community and nation need to be addressed with hope and inspiration.

Thank you for highlighting those who inspire.
