Be slow to place blame in officer-involved shootings

Is a fatal shooting really always the cops’ fault? People are so quick to judge that the cops had to be racist or had to have malicious intent when they shot the victim. Everyone always sides with the victim but, what about the cops’ point of view?

I’m sure most cops do not want to take another person’s life away. Most cops are probably just as scared as the person is. Being a cop is a hard and dangerous job.

Think about it like this: a cop hears about all these cops getting shot and has to continue his job. When he runs into people, for all he knows is they want him dead. Both people are scared, and that is why communication is key.

If the officers and person can communicate, then everyone can continue the day and no one has to get hurt.

Now I am not defending all cop shootings, I’m just pointing out that it takes both sides to work together. So next time there is an officer-involved shooting, before you cast blame on the officer. try to see things from his eyes.
