We’re addicted to processed foods (a bad thing)
Humans, Americans especially, love to make things easier; from the way we get to places, to the way we work, and even the way we eat.
We love the idea of throwing something in the microwave and having a meal two minutes and 30 seconds later. Processed foods have drastically changed our way of living. But is it really that great for us?
Our Western diet, which includes processed foods, is really something we should be ashamed of. Processed foods are foods that are transformed physically or chemically. Microwave foods and long-lasting shelf foods are both considered processed foods. Processed foods lead to overeating.
They are also highly addictive, having millions hooked. Also, too many can cause sicknesses such as: stroke, diabetes, coronary heart diseases and cancer.
Just the other day I was hanging out with my friends, and they suggested we go get some “junk food.” While we were at the liquor store, both of my friends leaned toward the cheap, processed snack foods. I looked around, and almost every buyer was about to consume highly processed foods, and I realized how bad everyone is so addicted to these foods.
