Even at age 23, health care is crucial

I agree with the headline on the Oct. 26 Dan Walters column “Health access too important for mere sloganeering.”

I also find great significance in having knowledge on SB-562 and educating others to understand the breakdown. Health care is something that affects everyone, yet not everyone is aware of what their insurance coverage really is and what they should be fighting for.

On the Healthy California Act website there is an ”Economic Analysis of the Healthy California Single-Payer Health Care Proposal (SB-562)” that I believe will help people grasp what it is proposing. As someone who was healthy one day and then was diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis at the age of 23, health access is crucial to me.

It is something that I will require for the rest of my life and sloganeering is just not going to cut it for something that will affect many others like me. Transparent information and language is absolutely needed and should be what we use to inform people on SB-562.
