Trump, Valadao: Vote con men out
You can always tell when a really odious piece of legislation is coming out of Congress. Rep. David Valadao floods the networks with ads promoting it.
He did that with the Trumpcare bill, which even Trump himself finally admitted was a mean bill, and it has to be pretty bad for that to happen. Now he is doing the same with the Trump tax plan, which is a massive giveaway to the wealthy.
He wants to pay for it by taking federal tax deductions away for student loans, medical debt and more specifically for states like California, the deductions we have been getting for property taxes, some mortgage interest payments and state income taxes.
The few tax breaks that help the middle class will expire in a few years, but the breaks for the wealthy will not. Almost every economist says that this plan will blow a giant hole in our national debt, and guess how Trump and Valadao are going to pay for it? They are going to cut Medicare, Social Security and Medicaid, and probably most other social programs.
I know, Trump promised he wouldn’t touch them. Right! Tell it to Congress. Better yet, vote these con men out of office.
